STAGE 1 - PRE-PRODUCTION
a. creative development
in the early stages the main focus is on drawing up the proposal
this is an extremely important stage in the working relationship
between customer and supplier
how this is approached
and treated separates one company from another
this essential document sets out the road map from
a blank sheet of paper to final execution, and takes into account the key parameters -
- the brief
- creative treatment
- execution
- logistics
- costings
- timings
and most importantly - the end objective
it represents how all the elements of visuals, graphics, sound and music are integrated into a well thought-out structure
|
it then makes recommendations on the most appropriate direction to take on treatment, style and creative execution
the proposal also spells out what the
expected outcome should be: i.e. what’s involved and what can be produced for the dollars in the time allocated
throughout the production checks and balances are done via an on-going review process
also anticipated - but not necessarily allowed for - are unexpected changes in brief or content
the proposal makes use of a plethora of ideas, different media, file types, and formats; so it spells out how they all come together as one entity, in a way that meets the brief and customer expectations
